Hello All!

We are having a hard time believing that March is almost upon us! It seems like just last week we were celebrating the holidays and new year with family and friends!

Hockey has been keeping us pretty busy! Les's team is nearing the end of their season, their last game is this weekend. They have shown quite some improvement during this new year and are really making some strides! We actually just got home from a game in Fort Collins at EPIC, they tied, but they played well the entire game! Jeff Lewis was also there doing some filming for a story on an upcoming NoCo Show! We will keep you posted as to the date! Les is already taking notes and making plans for next season to make it better than his first as coach.

He has also been staying busy with the Eagles games and radio. Many of you have heard "Borsh's Breakdown" between the second and third periods on the radio. He has really enjoied doing this all season and hopes to maybe have a bigger role next season. We stuck around on Saturday night with some friends for skate with the Eagles and Les was just as big of a hit with the kids as he ever was! They wanted autographs, pictures and just to talk and that really made Les feel great!

Therapy has been going great! The past couple of weeks Les has said that he has had some of the best workouts yet! Just monday he said that his arms felt the strongest they have since the accident and that his nerve pain was at its lowest! He has had his friends and trainers start to record his workouts everyday so that he can track his progress and make note of the exercises that seem to give him the best results! Les also hasn't had to miss any therapy sessions lately either! My mom has started working every other weekend so that she can drive him that friday and monday and my brother still drives him wednesdays. Our good family friend Ed has started driving on the off fridays and Les's friends and teammates have filled in on all of the other days. We have a list hanging by the computer of generous people who have volunteered to drive Les as well! We are so thankful that we live to close to many caring people to get him to and from his workouts!

We have been watching much of the Olympics, it's Canada vs. USA in this house!

As March approaches we are looking forward to some warm weather and chances to get out around the neighborhood with Bodi some more! Bodi was the "dog of the week" in the Fort Collins and Windsor papers last week and he was spoiled with way too much attention to celebrate! We can't wait to get him back out at the dog park! Les is hoping to continue working with some of the players on his hockey team through some summer training and I hope to continue working with some of my students through some summer tutoring! We are also hoping to get up to Canada to see all of Les's family that hasn't been able to make the trek down yet! We would love to head out to Oklahoma again, especially to welcome the newest Standish family member!

We recently learned that Les's insurance has been bought out by another company and are chancing many of their policies like so often happens. The future of his home health care is up in the air right now as we are teaming up with the agency to fight for his continued services. We want to once again thank you all for your support, prayers and donations. We still have piles of bills coming in and are fighting for some. The nice comments always help when the headaches of taking on insurance kick in. We appreciate everything! We know that he will never be forgotten by the amazing community that has stood behind him going on two years now.

much love,
Kara

We also wanted to say that we do get the emails and comments even if they aren't posted to the website right away. We were getting too much spam and some inappropriate comments, so now they all have to be approved by the guy who runs the website before they are posted, same as updates. Even if they aren't posted, they come in as an email through the borsheim recovery email and Les and I do see them, we have saved every single one and on hard days it is great to flip back through them for a quick pick-me-up! So, keep 'em comin' :)
