One year ago my life changed drastically PDF Print E-mail

With the help of Kara typing this will be my first update.

One year ago my life changed drastically, opening my eyes, my family's eyes,my friends eyes, and my team mates eyes to a whole new world that no one ever expects to see or experience.

Where to start...

I'll start by thanking Tyler Fleck. I wish everyone could be so lucky to have a friend like Tyler. I've always looked up to Tyler as a captain of my team, husband to his wife, and father to his daughter. When I came to, in the hospital, I was told of what Tyler had started and was amazed but not surprised. It wasn't like Tyler wasn't busy running two-three hockey schools, busy being a father and a husband, so for him to take the time and start something like this shows you just a small part of what kind of man Tyler is. I owe him the world. Enough about him....:)

To the Eagles organization, everyone of you has gone the extra mile in your own way. You have treated me like an extended family member and made this experience so much easier.

If I could thank each and every one that sent a message of hope and inspiration, said a prayer, bought a t-shirt, or donated any kind of support, I would thank each of you personally with a hug and a handshake. That being so many people it would be impossible for me to do. So, the only way I can think of to thank you all back is by working my butt off in therapy and gaining as much back as humanly possible. When I get better, I want to give back to these people that gave me so much. The crazy thing about this tragedy in my life,is it has opened my eyes up to the generosity and enormous hearts of so many people in my life, from all over Canada, all over the United States of America,  and more specifically, Northern Colorado. This website helped me get through a lot of rough patches along the way, so thank you over and over again from the bottom of my heart. I will continue to work and push myself like I never have before as this is a totally different battle than I've ever fought.

In writing this I hope to get across just how grateful I am for all of the support. If I could thank every doctor, every nurse, every therapist, every fan, every friend and every family member, I would and I will. For without you all, I would not be where I am today. Your continued prayers and support will be a tremendous help to me on this path of recovery.

STRENGTH,POWER, PROTECTION, GOOD FORTUNE
